A tranquil base for exploring Knysna and the Garden Route. Set on Knysna's Eastern Head, Pezula Nature Retreat is surrounded by indigenous forest, fynbos and open landscapes, with views across the championship Pezula Golf Course, lagoon and Indian Ocean. Spacious accommodation is arranged in landscaped pockets known as Naturehoods, offering privacy and a connection to the surrounding landscape. Nature Suites feature private wood-fired hot tubs, while elevated Sky Suites offer natural light and sweeping outlooks. Family and Interconnecting Suites provide space to spend time together, with larger Residences offering additional privacy. Days unfold at your own pace, with restorative spa treatments, dining at Zachary's Grill Room, golf on your doorstep and opportunities to explore nearby Noetzie Beach and the Garden Route. Our ongoing rewilding programme helps restore indigenous vegetation and supports the biodiversity that makes this setting distinctive. Thoughtful hosting is at the heart of every stay. From a warm welcome to the small details that make you feel looked after, we create space to slow down, reconnect and leave feeling better than when you arrived.
Construction began in 2003 under developer Keith Stewart, and the retreat opened in December 2004. The original development comprised a main building with restaurants, bars, a pool and spa, alongside 76 suites and two Presidential Suites. The retreat also operates the Private Residence Club, comprising five two-bedroom villas. Privately owned suites form part of a shared revenue model, with owners retaining 30 annual usage rights. Hilton operated the property under the Conrad brand until 31 May 2018. On 20 June 2018, Village n Life acquired the commercial properties and assumed full operational management, beginning a renewed focus on nature, wellness and thoughtful hosting.
